We're Here to Help

Find clear answers for every stage of your journey. Whenever you need guidance, our team is here for you.

Booking & planning

For the dry season, from December through April, we recommend booking 10–12 months in advance, especially if you have specific hotels, destinations, or naturalist guides in mind. During the green season, we can often create a wonderful journey with less notice, depending on availability.

Absolutely. Share your dates, interests, pace, and budget, and we'll tailor every detail to make the most of your investment without compromising quality, comfort, or experience.

Yes. We design private journeys for couples, families, friends, and larger groups, adjusting the pace, services, and guiding accordingly.

Yes. We adapt activities, travel times, and accommodations to your children's ages, creating a comfortable experience the whole family can enjoy.

During Your Journey

Costa Rica is wonderful year-round. The ideal season depends on your interests, preferred weather, and expectations. Some travelers enjoy sunnier days, while others prefer lush landscapes, fewer visitors, or seasonal wildlife. We'll help you choose what suits you best.

Pack light, quick-dry clothing, a rain jacket, Teva-style sandals, waterproof sneakers, sun protection, insect repellent, personal medications, and a reusable water bottle. Once your itinerary is confirmed, we'll send a personalized packing list based on your destinations, travel season, and planned activities.

Activity levels in Costa Rica may feel different from what you're used to at home. Heat, humidity, rain, elevation, and changing trail conditions can make a short walk more demanding. We'll explain each activity clearly and help you choose the right pace for your comfort and ability.

Costa Rica is generally safe and welcoming, with the usual travel precautions still worth following. If you're traveling with EDT, you'll also have trusted transportation, carefully selected local partners, and personal support throughout your trip.

Sustainability

We support local businesses and communities, respect wildlife and local culture, and choose responsible experiences that help travelers connect meaningfully with Costa Rica.

We calculate the emissions of your ground travel and activities, then invest in certified Costa Rican reforestation and conservation projects to balance them — at no extra cost to you.

Yes. We work with local guides, family-run lodges, farmers, and artisans, creating experiences that support communities, celebrate local culture, and keep your spending within the places you visit.

Payments & policies

A 25–50% deposit, depending on your itinerary, is required to confirm your reservation. The remaining balance is due 90 days before departure. Payments are made in USD by bank wire transfer.

Cancellations made 90+ days before departure incur a USD 250 per person handling fee, plus any hotel or supplier penalties. Travel insurance is strongly recommended. Please review our full Terms & Conditions.

We don't sell or recommend travel insurance. We do require every traveler to have appropriate coverage and suggest purchasing it in your home country, where it is often easier to arrange and more competitively priced.
